Healing House is certified by the Missouri Department of Mental Health, Division of Behavioral Services, to operate a Comprehensive Substance Treatment and Rehabilitation (CSTAR) program offering substance use disorder treatment at Levels I, II, and III. We are also accredited by CARF International for Outpatient, Intensive Outpatient Treatment, and Case Management/Service Coordination. These credentials affirm our commitment to evidence-based, person-centered care that meets rigorous state and international standards.
Treatment Location
Outpatient and intensive outpatient services are provided at our main clinical facility: 4505 St. John Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64123. Our recovery housing program and Recovery Community Center operate separately from this location and do not provide clinical treatment.
The ASAM Criteria
Healing House’s treatment services align with the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) dimensions of care, ensuring a comprehensive, holistic, and personalized treatment approach. This evidence-based approach enables practitioners to evaluate each participant across multiple aspects of their life and health, promoting long-term recovery.
This multidimensional assessment helps tailor care plans that are deeply individualized, improving outcomes for participants at Healing House.
Two levels of care are available:
Therapy and education groups meet in the evenings at 6:00 PM and 7:30 PM. Intensive Outpatient programming is on Wednesday & Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM with various options available.
All clinical services are supervised by licensed behavioral health professionals under the Missouri Department of Mental Health’s regulations.
An admissions assessment will take place to determine your level of care. To schedule, please call (816) 920-7181 weekdays, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM. We work with individuals regardless of their financial situation. Admissions decisions are based solely on clinical assessment and program eligibility, without discrimination by race, gender, religion, or ability to pay.

We comply with all applicable federal confidentiality laws, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, regarding substance use disorder treatment records. Disclaimer
Healing House provides licensed outpatient treatment services and peer-based recovery support. Our recovery residences offer safe housing but do not provide clinical treatment. All services are delivered in compliance with state licensure and accreditation requirements.
Healing House does not charge for initial assessments and works with individuals regardless of financial status. Grants and scholarships are available to pay for treatment services. Costs, if applicable, are discussed before services begin.
