The Recovery Community Center (RCC) provides participants with resources to begin the journey of long-term sobriety and recovery. It also serves as a large meeting hall for up to 300 people while hosting various Healing House and community events. The RCC is run by people with lived experience, or who have a family member with a substance use disorder. They understand the needs and wants of participants who enter the doors seeking help.
The RCC offers support groups, programs, educational services, employment assistance, and special events. Groups are led by Certified Peer Specialists and Family Support Specialists, credentialed by the Missouri Credentialing Board (MCB). CPS employees are also trained in CPR, Mental Health First Aid, Ethics & Naloxone (NARCAN) distribution.
Clinical substance use disorder treatment services are provided at our main offices, 4505 St. John Ave., Kansas City MO.

The Recovery Community Center (RCC) is the hub of daily life at Healing House KC. It’s where participants find connection, support, and—most importantly—a warm, home-cooked meal.
Every day, our dedicated kitchen staff prepares nearly 300 meals, ensuring that anyone in our program can enjoy lunch and dinner in a welcoming environment. But it’s more than just food—it’s a time for fellowship, encouragement, and community.

Training & Wellness
Our Training & Wellness space offers a wide variety of instruction designed to support personal growth and recovery. From addiction recovery and life skills to faith-based teachings and self-wellness, we focus on whole-body and soul transformation. Participants can also engage in hands-on wellness activities such as yoga, art therapy, improv, and social skills development, fostering a balanced and fulfilling recovery journey.
Employment Services Lab
Our Employment Services Lab equips individuals with the skills and resources needed for successful employment and long-term career development. We provide hands-on training in computer skills, résumé building, and mock interviews to prepare participants for the workforce. Additionally, we foster strong connections with employers, creating pathways to meaningful job opportunities and sustainable careers.
Kansas City Municipal
Wellness Court
Healing House KC partners closely with the Kansas City Municipal Wellness Court, providing a dedicated meeting space within our Recovery Community Center (RCC).This on-site presence offers a convenient and accessible resource for our participants, ensuring they receive the guidance and support needed on their recovery journey.
Alpha Recovery
Alpha is a beginner Christianity program that teaches new believers and those curious about who Jesus is. Every Friday, the Healing House community comes together at the RCC to worship, eat dinner, and create conversation per the Alpha Guide. The Alpha Guide opens the floor for our participants to discuss faith and the Lord. On some Fridays, we get to celebrate participants who have reached a specific point in their recovery, share testimonies, or invite guest speakers to express how faith has changed their life!
